I'm not going to go into a summary, because there is so much else to say! Just check out the blurb to see exactly what the story is about.

The beginning is quite confusing. The story draws you in almost immediately, but you are left wondering exactly why you are being jumped around timelines (be VERY sure to pay attention to the year at the top of the chapter so you know where you are).
If you are persistent you will be rewarded by a very unique story. I am from the United States, so the Australian/European perspective was quite interesting and I really enjoyed it.

The book was very long, both in page count AND the years it spanned. I can not believe the kindle edition is only .99 cents! Clearly the author wants his story to be heard by as many people as possible. His loss is your gain! Don't miss out on this one.
One word of caution before you go and impulse buy. If you are sensitive to strong language and/or violence then you may want to take a pass on this book. The cussing wasn't anything that was thrown in just for shock value, it always has a place in the story.
BUT it is a story with gangsters......there are a LOT of places for it!

It also has explicit sex scenes, however they aren't the usual sexy/erotica style. Just very explicit.
Overall it is a solid five stars! Highly recommend.

What a ride! This book took me on quite an adventure. The beginning chapters were a little choppy to me but once I got to the story part, it was just one thing after another. And by the end, I seriously could not read FAST enough to see what was going to happen.
The main character is Tray who had been a rising DJ star when he had to go into hiding. He is a lovable character even with all his partying ways; charming to the nth degree. I loved him, he was just a fun loving guy with a big heart. The cast of characters in this story is a diverse bunch. You have the English contingency, a bit like mafia types. Then you have the Portuguese group, the Aussies, some Arabs and the Dutch. Even Fidel Castro makes an appearance. It takes you from England to Portugal to Australia to Columbia and finally to Brazil. Real life actual events are interspersed in there too.
Have to say Pedro was one of my favorite characters. His inability to swear correctly in English was very amusing. There are a couple of other funny parts as well, and I liked how the author lightened the mood a bit. Because it needed it, the subject matter is a bit dark. Drugs and violence are an integral part of this story.
In order to not give spoilers, all I will say is that I liked how it ended. This would make a great movie. Love a book that has a story, with suspense and adventure and I learned about a world I knew nothing about. I always say you learn something new every day and with this book, I can say I learned a lot of new things! This book had me on the edge of my seat and I recommend you strap in and enjoy this fabulous ride. The author has a gift for storytelling and putting you smack dab in the middle of the action. I am looking forward to seeing what else he writes, I have a feeling he's got a lot more stories to tell.
I had a lovely Italian red wine while I read it and was briefly interrupted to eat a nice steak dinner. Which I quickly ate so I could get back to this book.
Great ready full of twist and turns. I picked it up and couldn't put it down until I had finished. Definitely worth a look. Graphic descriptions at time but appropriate to the storyline.

get totally immersed within this book,characters are interesting and realistic,the book has a dark edge that's exciting and keeps the reader on their toes
Don't let the warning about language, drug use, and sex scenes scare you away. The King of Sunday morning was an excellent read. I did spend a little time in the club scene in the 90′s so it was a little reminiscent but you didn't have to experience any of that to enjoy this book.

We follow Tray over decades of his life. He doesn't always do what's right - okay, hardly EVER but he is extremely likeable and as with any good book you really understand his choices because you are in his head. The plot was very well thought out and there is even a love interest.

This would make a FANTASTIC movie, it would be right up there with Reservoir Dogs, Fight Club, etc...

If you plan to pick this up, let me warn you it may be a tad confusing in the beginning but stick with it. It is well worth it!

McCauley, and a ripping read it is, taking you from London to the Algarve to Australia, and showing you the seedy underbelly of some truly interesting places. The lead character, Tray McCarthy is a man with a past, and he desperately tries to protect everyone in his life from it. When the worm turns however, it is everyone in his life that comes together to protect him from it.
